LAREDO -- Taitung City, Chinese-Taipei won the 2019 Bronco World Series on Monday. Both teams put up three runs in the first inning and remained tied until Chinese-Taipei put up three more runs in the third inning.
Chinese-Taipei also picked up the batting champion for the World Series as Cheng Hsien Su finished the Palomino World Series with an .800 batting average.
Chinese-Taipei scored on a fielder's choice by I Chieh Huang, a double by Hsin Che Yu, and a triple by Cheng Hsien Su in the first inning.
Chinese-Taipei scored three runs in the third inning. The offensive firepower by Chinese-Taipei was led by Sheng En Wang and Hsien Su, both driving in runs in the frame.
I Chieh led things off on the pitcher's mound for Chinese-Taipei. He surrendered four runs on one hit over two innings, striking out three.
Chinese-Taipei mashed two home runs on the day. Yen Tsu Chiu had a homer in the sixth inning. Hsien Su went yard in the third inning.
Joselyn Hernandez, Abraham Martinez, Jorge Hernandez, and Aaron Velazquez each collected one hit to lead Mexico.
