The blast was a highlight moment for the Mexican side and showcased J. Z’s power early in the contest. Tokyo tacked on another run in the second inning with a sharp single to center by W. G, then added two more in the third on an RBI groundout and aggressive base running, stretching their lead to 6–2. Despite the early challenge, Culiacán continued to battle, with J. His ability to produce against Tokyo’s deep pitching staff was a bright spot for the team, along with L. Culiacán got things rolling early, putting up two runs in the top of the first after an error by Chicago and a sacrifice fly from H. A. But the second inning proved to be the knockout blow, as Culiacán erupted for 12 runs on a barrage of hits, walks, and aggressive baserunning. O. G drew a walk to force in a run, followed by L. L’s two-run single. J. Z then ripped a two-run double, and D. B crushed his first home run of the game to center field, scoring two more. The inning continued with a single from J. P to score another run, a successful steal of home, a two-run single from J., and an RBI double by D. to cap the scoring outburst.

The offensive onslaught didn’t stop there. In the third inning, Culiacán tacked on seven more runs. An error by Chicago allowed two runs to score, and N. G followed with a two-run double. D. B then launched his second home run of the game—another shot to center—bringing in two more runs. R. C added a single to score the final run of the inning.

On the mound, D. C started the game for Culiacán and set the tone early, pitching one inning of shutout ball while striking out two and allowing just one hit. R. came in as relief and maintained the dominance, throwing one hitless inning and recording a strikeout without allowing a walk.

Culiacán tallied 14 hits overall and showed great discipline at the plate, drawing nine walks. R., J., L., and O. all recorded multiple hits, while H. N led the team with three walks. On the bases, Culiacán was relentless, stealing 14 bases—led by multi-steal efforts from J., L., H., and G. G. Chicago’s offense was limited, but M. M, A. B, and D. R each collected one hit, with M. M driving in the team’s only run while going 1-for-2 at the plate.

Culiacán’s commanding performance showcased their offensive depth, pitching efficiency, and base-running aggression as they continued to assert themselves as one of the most dominant teams in the 2025 Pony-13 World Series.

Tokyo, Japan will play Culiacan, Mexico on August 2nd at 7:30PM. San Cristobal, Dominican Republic will play Chicago, IL on August 2nd at 7:30PM.
