W. A had a performance to remember on Saturday, belting two home runs and driving in six runs to lead San Cristobal, Dominican Republic to a dominant 18–3 victory over Chicago, Illinois in tournament play. The offensive fireworks began early for San Cristobal, and it didn’t take long for W. A to make his presence known. In the top of the first, he sent a solo shot soaring over the right field fence to open the scoring and set the tone for what would become a one-sided affair.
San Cristobal’s bats stayed hot in the second inning. The team erupted for five runs on four hits, starting with a run-scoring single by L. G. W. A returned to the plate and ripped a two-run double into the gap. Moments later, R. A launched a two-run home run to left field, capping a powerful inning and giving San Cristobal a 6–0 lead. The Dominican squad didn’t slow down in the third. Aggressive base running paid off as both L. and W. executed successful steals of home plate, adding two more runs to the tally and showcasing the team’s relentless pressure on the basepaths.
In the fourth inning, San Cristobal delivered its biggest offensive outburst of the day, scoring seven runs on five hits. A defensive error brought home the first run before L. G added another RBI single. I. A doubled in a run, followed by a two-run single from G. D. W. A then stepped up again and launched his second homer of the game—a towering two-run shot to right field—to cap the inning and bring his RBI total to six on the day.
On the mound, San Cristobal also shined. Starter K. M set the tone with a scoreless inning, striking out three and allowing no hits. I. P took over in relief and pitched four strong innings, giving up just three hits and two runs while striking out six and walking two. The pitching staff held Chicago to just five hits and prevented any chance of a comeback.
San Cristobal’s offense was relentless from top to bottom. The team racked up 15 hits in total, with multiple players having standout days. L. G, G. D, and R. A each recorded multiple hits. K. drew a team-high three walks as San Cristobal showed patience at the plate, finishing with 10 walks overall. The team’s aggressiveness extended to the base paths, where they swiped an eye-popping 16 bases—five players had multi-steal games. Defensively, San Cristobal was flawless, committing no errors. J. R anchored the defense with 10 fielding chances.
Despite the tough outing, Chicago, Illinois had some bright spots. Leadoff hitter A. B went 2-for-3 at the plate and stole two bases, while J. Game 6: McAllen, Texas (2) vs. Venetia, Pennsylvania (12)
R. L delivered a dominant performance at the plate and on the base paths to lead Venetia, Pennsylvania to a convincing 12–2 victory over McAllen, Texas on Saturday at the Youngsville Sports Complex. R. L drove in five runs on three hits, helping Venetia remain unbeaten in tournament play with a statement win. R. L wasted no time making an impact, singling up the middle in the bottom of the first to score the game’s first run. Moments later, a wild pitch allowed another run to cross the plate, putting Venetia up 2–0 early.
McAllen, Texas answered in the top of the second. N. W. roped a double that drove in one, and shortly after, N. showcased aggressive base running with a daring steal of home to tie the game 2–2. The tie didn’t last long. Venetia, Pennsylvania reclaimed the lead in the bottom half of the second, sparked by back-to-back singles from C. O and R. L. The pair helped plate two runs and made it 4–2, shifting momentum firmly back to the Pennsylvania squad.
In the fourth inning, R. L delivered the knockout blow. With the bases loaded, he ripped a double to the outfield gap, clearing the bases and extending Venetia’s lead to 9–2. His offensive explosion was the difference-maker in a game where timely hitting and heads-up base running proved crucial. R. L wasn’t done yet—he also starred on the mound. The right-hander pitched five strong innings, allowing just two hits and two runs (one earned) while striking out nine and walking four. His command and poise kept McAllen’s hitters off balance throughout the outing.
A. D came in to pitch the final frame and sealed the win in dominant fashion, tossing a scoreless inning with one strikeout and no hits or walks. Offensively, Venetia was patient and disciplined, drawing 10 walks as a team. A. worked two of those free passes, and the team’s smart plate approach continually pressured McAllen’s pitchers. Venetia also showed off their speed, stealing eight bases in total—including three swipes by R. L. They turned one key double play and remained aggressive on both sides of the ball.
For McAllen, N. and R. G each collected one hit, with N. driving in the team’s only RBI. On the base paths, J. R and S. each stole multiple bases as part of McAllen’s own eight-steal effort. Defensively, McAllen played clean baseball, not committing a single error, with R. J leading the team in fielding chances with six.
Though McAllen showed flashes of potential, Venetia’s complete performance—highlighted by R. L’s five RBIs, strong pitching, and aggressive baserunning—proved too much to overcome. The win keeps Venetia, Pennsylvania rolling and establishes them as a team to watch as the tournament continues.

Game 7: Placentia, California (7) vs. Laredo, Texas (6)
Laredo, Texas showed resilience and fight on Saturday at the Youngsville Sports Complex, but a late-game push wasn’t enough as they fell just short to Placentia, California in a thrilling 7–6 contest. Despite the loss, O. R had an outstanding performance at the plate for Laredo, going a perfect 3-for-3. The standout slugger singled in the second and third innings, and later ripped a double in the fifth, consistently sparking the Laredo offense throughout the game.
Placentia, California came out strong, jumping to an early lead in the bottom of the first. J. P opened the scoring with an RBI double, and A. R followed with a productive groundout that brought home two more runs, giving Placentia an early 3–0 cushion. The pressure continued in the bottom of the second, where Placentia extended their lead to 6–1. F. K delivered a clutch two-run double, followed by an RBI single from J. that added to the damage.
Down by five runs, Laredo refused to go quietly. A. G, I. L, and A. M all came through with key hits, including a two-run single and a run-scoring double that fueled a rally and brought the score within striking distance. Laredo tied the game in the top of the fifth after A. G singled to right field, capping off a spirited comeback effort and evening the score at 6–6. However, Placentia responded in the bottom half of the inning. D. O delivered the decisive blow with an RBI double to reclaim the lead for Placentia, 7–6 — a run that would ultimately hold up as the game-winner.
On the mound, L. C turned in a solid relief outing for Laredo, throwing four and two-thirds innings while allowing just two runs on four hits, striking out three, and not issuing a walk. A. G started for Laredo and gave up five runs (four earned) in one and one-third innings. For Placentia, A. got the start and pitched two and two-thirds innings, allowing two runs on four hits. The pitching staff was able to hold off Laredo’s surge just enough to secure the narrow win. Laredo’s offense was productive, collecting 11 hits on the day. A. M drove in two runs and went 1-for-2, while I. L and A. also turned in multi-hit performances. Their late-game offensive pressure nearly flipped the script.
J. led Placentia at the plate, going 2-for-3, while F. K, A. R, and J. each collected two RBIs to pace their lineup. Though the scoreboard favored Placentia, Laredo left the field with heads held high after a gutsy, back-and-forth battle. Their persistent offense and strong effort in the field made it a game to remember.

Game 8: Tokyo, Japan vs. Culiaćan, Mexico
Despite a perfect day at the plate from J. Z, who went 3-for-3 with a home run and two singles, Culiacán, Mexico couldn’t hold off the offensive power of Tokyo, Japan, falling 16–3 on Saturday in tournament play. Tokyo, Japan wasted no time jumping ahead, putting together a four-run top of the first inning to seize early momentum. Y. S opened the scoring with an RBI double, followed by a triple from K. F that drove in another. H. N capped off the surge with a two-run single to right, putting Culiacán immediately on its heels.
However, Culiacán responded quickly in the bottom half of the inning. After a leadoff single, J. Z stepped to the plate and launched a towering two-run home run to right field, energizing the crowd and cutting the deficit in half. The blast was a highlight moment for the Mexican side and showcased J. Z’s power early in the contest. Tokyo tacked on another run in the second inning with a sharp single to center by W. G, then added two more in the third on an RBI groundout and aggressive base running, stretching their lead to 6–2. Despite the early challenge, Culiacán continued to battle, with J. Z collecting his second hit of the game on a line-drive single to left in the third inning.
Culiacán looked to mount a comeback in the fifth when J. Z notched his third hit of the day—another single—making him a perfect 3-for-3 on the night and accounting for more than half of his team’s offensive production. L. L also contributed with a pair of hits, but the rest of the lineup struggled to solve Tokyo’s steady pitching and airtight defense.
The floodgates opened in the seventh as Tokyo put the game out of reach with a six-run frame. Despite only two hits in the inning, Tokyo capitalized on walks, an error, and timely contact. W. drew a bases-loaded walk, a fielding miscue plated another run, and Y. S grounded out to bring in the third of the inning. The big blow came from K., who roped a two-run double to the gap, and R. N followed with an RBI single, pushing the lead to 16–3.
On the mound, Culiacán cycled through arms to keep Tokyo at bay. D. B started the game but struggled to find his rhythm, allowing four runs in just one-third of an inning. H. Although the scoreboard favored Tokyo, Culiacán, Mexico had a few individual standouts. J.
